We were thrilled to partner with Michigan State University's masters of science in market research (MSMR) graduate program where we had the privilege of working alongside the next upcoming generation of industry professionals. We loved being part of their journey towards developing a deeper and more nuanced understanding of the industry.
Throughout the partnership, we were guest lecturers and shared our knowledge and unique approaches with the students. We discussed the fundamental factors for success in the industry, highlighting the importance of creating a culture of curiosity and a problem-solving mindset. Additionally, we delved into the various challenges faced by our industry across screening, recruitment, and selecting participants, exploring potential solutions with the students. To apply their learnings, students had the opportunity to run a tailored research study with real-life participants recruited by the Echo team. Based on our interactions, students gained a greater appreciation of how to engage research participants with respect, interesting content, and fair rewards in order to create a more meaningful experience for the participant and more valuable insights for clients.
The whole experience has us feeling excited and optimistic about the future generation of researchers as we witnessed the students applying their newfound knowledge to real-life scenarios. We look forward to partnering with Michigan State University again, as we continue to inspire and cultivate the next generation of industry experts.
Mike Mickunas, MSU:
“We want our students to go beyond conceptual learning to build real-world skills, and Echo-MR has stepped up as a partner to our program in a number of ways. Kerry, Asheigh and Laura developed lectures that emphasized the importance of going beyond “filling sample” to thoughtfully transacting with research participants with a balanced view of mutual value – this mindset will be critical to our students’ success as they enter the industry. In addition, Echo-MR provided our student teams with high-quality, real respondents for their case study research, enabling them to gain first-hand experience of managing live respondents. Last – and not least – Kerry and the team continually expand my thinking as we collaborate on new ways to bring their perspective and expertise to our program. I look forward to further building the partnership bet
